Green Savings in Indonesian Malls
Asia Pacific’s real estate markets are navigating meaningful transition, with sustainability disclosure frameworks advancing across the region and investor expectations rising. NWP Property, one of Indonesia’s leading retail mall operators, secured the country’s first International Finance Corporation (IFC) sustainability-linked loan in 2025,1 with KPIs tied to energy, water, and green building outcomes. In FY2025, rooftop solar across 13 malls generated 8.9 million kWh of clean energy, and recycled water replaced 40% of potable consumption across 10 malls—together delivering over $350,000 USD in annual operational savings. Green building certification now covers 46% of gross floor area, and energy use intensity has been reduced by 5.7% against a 2019 baseline.
